Dr, Wangen,

Would grass fed beef or corn fed beef make a difference?

Dr. Stephen Wangen said...

The food that the animal eats affects the biochemistry of the animal, such as the omega 3 fat content. But the food proteins aren't reflected in the animal's proteins.

Put another way...
There shouldn't be substantial concentrations of the source food in the meat of an animal. If there is, it may have been put there later by the butcher (think stuffed meats!). That doesn't mean it is impossible, just not something we would expect or be concerned about.

Thanks for your question!
