Living in Chicken Paradise

Today I am writing you from San Antonio. I'm on my Texas tour and had a very nice evening last night speaking to the folks of San Antonio.

Many thanks to Anne and Joe Barfield. Anne runs the local gluten intolerant group and they operate a gluten and dairy free B&B here in San Antonio called Chicken Paradise. I am currently sitting outside in the wonderful San Antonio heat with chickens passing by as I write this.

A few cicadas are calling in the noon heat. Ironically, it's cooler here than it is in Seattle, where the temperature has been over 100 degrees for the past couple of days. I sure am glad to get out of there and down here to some reasonable summer weather! How funny is that? Everyone warned me about Texas in the summer, but I got lucky.

Every once in awhile I also see the peacocks that roam the premises. If you get down this way, be sure to stay at Chicken Paradise. Not only will you enjoy your time here and the wonderful breakfast, but you'll find other gluten free and dairy free services in town, such as the Aussie Bakery, which is where I'm headed next.

Please visit www.ChickenParadise.com to learn more about this unique place and to see picture of some very interesting features. In particular note the massive tree house. Maybe I should have gone up there to write this? I can't complain, I'm down by the pool and Joe brought out a huge fan to cool me off. Uhoh, gotta run. I think I hear a chicken coming.

Chicken Paradise GF Bed and Breakfast enjoyed hosting Dr. Wangen in San Antonio, and would like to mention that we love the challenge of preparing a feast for those with dietary restrictions. We often have guests with gluten, dairy, egg, soy, specific fruits, nuts and other allergies. Also, we can prepare a vegan breakfast if that is your choice. Come see us!
